Crocodiles - Sunday

Crocodiles "Sunday (Psychic Conversations #9)" from samuel j macon on Vimeo.

Crocodiles new single Sunday from their upcoming album Endless Flowers due out on 4th June. It's pretty catchy but they have lost a bit of their more grungy unique sound from the previous records. Sunday sounds more generic and less distinguishable kinda like a song you come across on youtube from one of the many new wave bands. Still its not one to be over looked and their shoe gazer floaty sounds are still there, we can't help but nod our heads and tap our toes, we like it. The video is great it's so colourful and has the popular retro film style. It sounds and looks like summer, a sunny "Sunday and the world loves itself" aaahhhh

Tarantino- Django Unchained

We were just saying the other day I wonder when Tartantino will bring out a new movie and today we found out. Tarantino or shall I name him Santa Claus in this case will be delivering us a present on Christmas Day that goes by the name of Django Unchained and its a Western.

So the bad guy from Inglorious Bastards (Christopher Waltz) is now the good guy. He plays Dr. King Schultz a German dentist turned bounty hunter. The main man Django, a slave-turned-bounty hunter, is played by Jamie Foxx. Together they set out to rescue Django's wife form a brutual Mississippi plantantion owner, the charming baddie, Calvin Candie who is played by Leonardio Di Caprio. Who would have thought it eh.

Well Christmas can't come soon enough. And hopefully the soundtrack will be as good as usual or as Deathproofs that for me is his finest.

THE DANDY WARHOLS-MANCHESTER ACADEMY 20/04/12

With only three dates on their Uk tour to showcase their new album This Machine The Dandy Warhols played at Manchester Academy 2 and we made sure we caught them. You can hear This Machine in its entirety before its released on April 24th exclusively on NME's website. http://www.nme.com/news/dandy-warhols/63270

They didn't play much from This Machine only a few songs, one called Enjoy Yourself was quite amusing with Courtney Taylor singing " I used to be pretty, pretty like a girl. I was the prettiest little girl in the whole fucking world."  Shortly before this song Taylor had tied his long girlie locks up into a bun. Maybe a little self conscious singing those lyrics with a look that does resemble a girl. True to the lyrics he did used to be pretty but those looks had aged quite a bit since the the bands hey day. None the less though that pout was still evident as he huskily sung through the mic.

The crowd went wilder for their older hits such as Get Off, Boys Better, Ride, Godless, We used to be Friends and of course Bohemian Like You.

The set flowed really well, the ''big tunes'' were nicely balanced and accompanied with new tunes and it didnt feel like they were there to plug their new album tracks too much. The only abruption in their set was when Courtney Taylor stopped playing guitar twenty seconds into a tune to complain about the lighting saying ''Steve Im going to need to able to see my hands on this one, haven't played it in a while....''

Fair play. We managed to sneak in our camera to get a few shots, here are some. We hope you Dig em.

Also Here's the setlist;

  1. Be-In
  2. We Used To Be Friends
  3. Last Junkie On Earth
  4. I Love You
  5. Rest Your Head
  6. Last High
  7. Enjoy yourself
  8. SETI vs The Wow! Signal
  9. Burned
  10. Every Day Should Be A Holiday
  11. Ride
  12. All The Money Or The Simple Life Honey
  13. Bohemian Like You
  14. Get Off
  15. Godless
  16. Boys Better
