Deap Vally

Deap Vally are bloody brilliant. They sound like karen O gone schitz on blues, rock & roll. These girls know how to make music, with deep scuzzy guitar riffs and a soulful voice Lindsey Troy takes the lead and keeping the rhythm with the drums is Julie Edwards. The duo met through knitting and discovered they had same taste in music, it wasn't long before those knitting needles turned to drumsticks. They have been described as having similar sounds too Led Zeppelin, Janis Joplin, Joan Jett, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Black Keys and The White Stripes. Can't get much better comparisons than that.

Deap Vally don't only sound good they look damm hot too with Leather jackets, denim shorts, fringed t-shirts, studded shoes and sunglasses, oh and a can of redstripe in hand, they are a Californian dream.

They are touring the uk just now, cant wait to see them this Friday at The Soup Kitchen. Tickets £5 here at ticketline.
